HZO has the privilege of serving a diverse range of clients in various industries.
Although we cannot publicly disclose all of these relationships, here are a few we can mention:
Rakuten Kobo Aura ONE eReader
Kobo wanted the Aura ONE eReader to have a larger screen, a slimmer profile, and be completely waterproof. Due to the thinner form factor, legacy protection solutions like gaskets, plugs, and mechanical seals weren’t an option. HZO coatings allowed Kobo to design the slimmest e-reader on the market while upgrading the device to an IPX8 waterproof rating.
Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet
When the engineers at Dell designed the Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet, they wanted the device to exceed the offerings of other devices on the market. HZO integrated with Dell’s engineers to develop a manufacturing process to protect critical peripheral boards on time and within budget, giving the whole tablet an overall rating of IP65 against water and dust.
Netatmo Presence
HZO partnered with smart home manufacturer Netatmo to create the Presence, an outdoor security camera that could withstand exposure to salt fog, snow, rain, and more. HZO’s microns-thin coating facilitated thermal dissipation, and its flexible business models kept up with Netatmo’s rigid manufacturing schedules.
tolino vision eReaders
Tolino recognized a need for water protection on their premium line of eReaders and approached HZO for help. Beginning with the tolino vision 2 HD in 2014, the company has worked hand in hand with HZO on consecutive tolino vision HD eReader models.
Motorola Moto Surround
Motorola needed sweat protection for their collar-style Bluetooth headphones and chose HZO after its coating was the only solution that survived the sweat immersion test requirements. The Moto Surround wireless earbuds entered production, with each unit’s internal circuitry protected with HZO. Sweat failure was no longer a concern for Motorola or its customers.
Elecom Wireless Headphones
Elecom was ready to release its latest line of wireless sports headphones but was experiencing catastrophic device failures due to sweat. Elecom needed a partner with a robust solution that could be incorporated quickly, seamlessly, and without device design changes. HZO worked tirelessly with Elecom to devise a unique protection solution to curb device failures and enable a quick product launch.
Samsung/Prismview LED Signage
Prismview, a Samsung Electronics Company (formally YESCO Electronic Displays), came to HZO searching to improve upon their legacy solution of applying thick, heavy conformal coatings to their LED signs. HZO augmented Prismview’s traditional conformal coating application with a microns-thin protective film. This meld of technologies significantly increased the lifetime of the LED signage with zero field failures of HZO Protected™ LED panels.
SportEar
SportEar chose HZO to protect its in-ear hearing augmentation wearables from rain, snow, and sweat. The microns thin HZO coating was ideal for superior coverage on a micro in-ear product and has served SportEar successfully for years.
Bully Dog
Bully Dog builds a series of high-quality engine tuners for any high-powered gas or diesel vehicle, and the team knew they needed robust protection for their “PowerSports” line of snowmobile tuners. These tuners would experience negative temperatures and a constant onslaught of high-velocity snow, mud, and water. The company approached HZO looking for a superior solution after their traditional protection methods weren’t adapting to harsh environments. For example, mechanical seals can constrict in cold temperatures and present entry into the electronics. HZO’s coating offered the required protection without being affected by severe temperatures.
NavELite Compass
NavELite was close to launching its compass, built for military personnel and outdoor adventurers, when its team realized the ultrasonic welding engineered to protect the backlit compass's battery allowed liquid ingress and shorting the backlight. The engineering teams from NaveELite and HZO quickly synced and developed a superior solution that enabled NavELite to keep their launch deadline. NavELite decided to offer two products: a non-protected version and an HZO Protected™ compass at a $50 premium. The HZO Protected™ version outsold the unprotected version 9:1, proving the need and demand for superior protection.
Nike+ FuelBand
The Nike+ FuelBand was one of the first mainstream activity-tracking wearables on the market and sought to boost the level of water protection for the next generation of its device, the Nike+ FuelBand SE. After rigorous testing and validation, HZO was chosen and immediately moved into production. The company’s manufacturing goals were ambitious and unforgiving, but HZO worked to successfully include improved water protection on one of the best-selling fitness trackers of 2013.
ICEDot
ICEdot’s Crash Sensor and App offer a comprehensive digital safety platform. A failed sensor could mean the difference between life and death, and ICEdot knew they had to incorporate the best electronic protection possible. ICEdot originally incorporated mechanical seals into the product design but still experienced device failures due to liquid ingress. Taking no chances, ICEdot decided to use HZO as a redundant protection solution. The combination of mechanical seals and coatings provided the most robust and foolproof protection possible.
LaiPac
LaiPac came to HZO to help protect their S911 Bracelet Locator and LOLA lanyard tracker. Both products featured mechanical seals, but the company knew they needed more to provide the protection people would expect in water conditions such as rain, showering, or accidental submersion. Not only did HZO provide superior protection, including an IP67 rating, but their networks introduced LaiPac to a new manufacturer that could keep up with their growing demand.
RIDI Corporation
HZO provides IPX8-rated protection on the RIDIPAPER 4, Korea’s first waterproof eReader. The waterproof protection enables up to 60 minutes of submersion in up to two meters of water.
Sarcos Robotics
Sarcos Robotics needed the mission-critical industrial Guardian S RVI robot to stand up to the harshest of environments. HZO helped Sarcos meet IP65 Ingress Protection ratings with it's "one-stop-shop" solution.
