HZO welcomes former Magellan CEO, Nelson C. Chan, as the Executive Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors



Nelson C. Chan, a seasoned executive and board member of notable companies across a wide range of industries, will bring crucial knowledge and leadership to further HZO’s continued path of success and growth in the electronics protection industry.

Mr. Chan is no stranger to leadership within companies similar to HZO. As the former CEO of Magellan from 2006–2008 during the hallmark years of GPS systems, Mr. Chan recognizes technology companies poised for growth and pole position. Mr. Chan has also served as Chairman of the Board of Outerwall, the public company behind the iconic RedBox movie rental and Coinstar coin counting kiosks. Early in his career, Mr. Chan served in various senior management positions with SanDisk Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of flash branded storage products, including vice president of global marketing and senior vice president of global sales and marketing. Mr. Chan helped drive the flash storage business from startup phase to over $3 billion in annual revenue.

From 1983 to 1992, Mr. Chan held marketing and engineering positions at Chips and Technologies, Signetics, and Delco Electronics. Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Santa Clara University.
